Director Mani Ratnam has created a niche with his acclaimed films, 'Bombay', 'Roja' and 'Dil se' and has gained honored position both nationally and internationally.

Recently, the director was hospitalized in Delhi at Apollo Hospital, Indraprastha due to illness but reportedly, he is keeping well and will return to Chennai on Thursday.

Mani Ratnam was in Srinagar on Tuesday and while playing golf, he experienced breathlessness. After medical supervision, it was believed that the breathlessness was probably because of the altitude.

The director was recently sees working on his laptop at the hospital in the capital city. Doctors monitored him overnight and found him to be fine.
