(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mariah Carey says she reminds her friends of a mermaid because she loves water so much.

The 42-year-old songstress is expecting to give birth to twins her first children with husband Nick Cannon any day now. She says her approach to exercise has been a healthy one throughout her pregnancy, although her doctor had advised she cut down on the amount of swimming she was doing.

Mariah insists the medical advice has been hard to follow, as she loves spending time in water.

As far as exercise, I love the water. I always have. I was swimming daily until the doctors advised me to limit my activities. There will be a time for that afterwards! she told the British edition of OK! magazine. People that know me call me a mermaid because I love the water so much, be it an ocean, lake, water park, even a river or a creek. Im actually in the bath tub right now!

The singer has admitted that shes enjoying her slower pace of life since becoming pregnant. The global star says she is excited at the prospect of taking time out of her career to concentrate on family life.

This is one of the few times in my career that Ive actually taken it easy, sort of. I am looking forward to spending quality time with the babies and Nick and thats our plan, she added. (C) Cover Media
