Happy birthday Madonna, the Grammy-winning music mogul Madonna celebrates her 54rd birthday today. She still looks amazing and still breaking records with her tour de force concerts.

Material girl hit maker Madonna was born in Bay City, Michigan, on August 16, 1958. In 1981 she went solo as a pop singer and became a sensation on the then male-dominated 80s music scene. By 1991, she had achieved 21 Top 10 hits in the United States and sold more than 70 million albums internationally. While there’s no denying her influence on the world of music, one cannot deny her influence on fashion and the world of cinema as well. Even though some of her looks have not always been exactly original, she continues to reinvent herself and re-inspire us at the same time.

Madonna stars in movies like Who's That Girl?, A League of Their Own, Body of Evidence and Swept Away among others. In 2012, she produce, directs and write the movie W.E.
