(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Matt Bellamy plans to dedicate a lullaby to his new baby on his next album.
The British rocker is expecting a child with his girlfriend Kate Hudson and has joked he would like to write some family-friendly music with his band Muse. Matt is expecting many sleepless nights when the baby arrives later this year, so thinks recording a relaxing song might help to soothe the child.
"Yeah, I'm definitely going to bring out the Vibraphone, [maybe write] a lullaby, things like that," he laughed to MTV News. "I'll definitely get a lullaby on there."
Muse won best rock album at the Grammy Awards last night and Matt admits he was bowled over to receive such a prestigious accolade. The musician insists the band didnt think they stood a chance of taking home the prize and he is thrilled to have been recognised in the US.
"I never expected to win something like this in America. It's probably the biggest, most important music award in the world, and it's a great honour, he said. Especially since it's an award for the album we made. We've won quite a lot of awards for our live show, but we've never quite won an award for the actual album, so it's amazing."
As Muse went on stage to collect their prize, Matt took the opportunity to pay tribute to Kate, who accompanied him to the ceremony in Los Angeles. The 32-year-old thanked everyone involved in making The Resistance, before giving a special shout out to the Hollywood actress.
Id like to give a special thanks to my beautiful pregnant girlfriend over there, Matt beamed.
Kate and Matt have been dating for around ten months after they met at a music festival in California last year. (C) Cover Media
