(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Matthew McConaughey admits he broke a little bit of a sweat while renovating his latest caravan.

The 41-year-old US actor has a mansion in Malibu, California, which he shares with his partner Camila Alves and their two children; two-year-old son Levi and 14-month-old daughter Vida.

Matthew is renowned for his love of caravans and owns three in total, two of which remain in the grounds of his family home.

The actor took a great deal of pleasure in renovating one of the trailers, although admits he sought the help of professionals for the bulk of the work.

I still got the caravan. Two are on the property and one goes on location with me, I got three caravans now, he told the Kyle and Jackie O radio show.

I worked on the interior for three years and its fine, I call it the Smithsonian.

I was doing a bit of it [the renovation] but there are a lot of people a lot more handy with that stuff than I am. But I did most of the design. I broke a little bit of a sweat on it.

Matthew is especially proud of the dining area which has been created, and admits he hosts fabulous dinner parties. The actor loves nothing more than cooking up a hearty meal for his partner and kids. I put a 7ft by 4ft window that opens up over the galley to the outside and outside I put a bar that raises up, he enthused.

At lunch we serve and get four bar stools outside, the chef serves out the window, its a great place to hang out. (C) Cover Media
