(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Matthew Perry admits licking an actress face for his new television show was off putting.

The 41-year-old stars as Ben Donovan in sitcom Mr. Sunshine and also acts as co-writer and executive producer. Ben is the manager of a San Diego sports arena called the Sunshine Center and the show follows him as he suffers a midlife crisis around his 40th birthday.

During one episode, Ben goes on a date and shocks the woman by licking her face. Matthew has revealed the storyline was inspired by real-life events and has advised anyone against trying it.

"That apparently happened to a writer of ours named Casey Johnson, who was on a date and some guy just like, licked her face. So, Lindsay Sloane is a great actress and a friend of mine so I said, 'Perfect! Let's have you come and I'll lick your face on national television,' Matthew told ET. "It was very off putting. It's not a great move."

The actor went on to reveal he does have a few things in common with his latest television character. Matthew who is best known for his role as Chandler Bing in American show Friends has joked they both share the same personality trait.

There are similarities he is a little selfish and I created a show for myself, he laughed. (C) Cover Media
