(Cover) - EN Fashion - Matthew Williamson says Sienna Miller embodies everything he hopes to evoke as a designer.

Matthew is best known for his colourful prints and Indian-inspired designs, and he counts the beautiful actress as one of his closest friends and muses.

The British designer says he doesn’t like it when women look to preened, and is inspired by those who are naturally fashionable and confident in their own skin like style icon Sienna, who is famous for her bohemian image.

“Sienna dresses with real confidence and taps into what I’m about as a designer – laidback glamour, never too polished or too refined,” he told the British edition of Marie Claire magazine.

Matthew went on to explain how much the time he spent in India working for the British fashion retailer Monsoon has influenced his designs, and says he has always looked for exciting materials which are lively and full of character.

“I like fabrics that have a real personality, and some of the traits of my first collection still stand true today – that sense of travel and global influences,” he revealed.

The 38-year-old designer admits he has his mother to thank for his success in the realm of fashion, saying she continues to play a key role in his work today.

“My mum really supported the idea of me becoming a designer, so she remains just as important to me now as she did then,” he gushed. (C) Cover Media
