(Cover) - EN Fashion - Nicola Roberts says she was “terrified” of attending her first fashion show.

The petite star shot to fame as one fifth of the British pop group Girls Aloud, alongside fellow members Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding, Cheryl Cole and Nadine Coyle.

With her unique sense of style, the redhead soon became recognised as the fashion icon of the band, and she has since become a regular attendee of fashion shows alongside fellow fashionistas such as Alexa Chung and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

Nicola admits she was initially nervous about being surrounded by such glamorous stars, and worried she wouldn’t adapt to being part of the fashion set when she went to a show by Welsh designer Julien Macdonald.

“I remember the first show I went to was Julien Macdonald and I remember sitting there thinking, ‘I am terrified!’ I wasn’t very comfortable, but now I’m fine,” she told the British edition of OK! Magazine.

Nicola now understands that looking good is all about feeling confident on the inside. The starlet says she manages to pull of such eccentric outfits because she wears them with pride.

“It’s all about confidence and I think if you pull it on and you think it looks amazing, then go for it. But don’t leave the house when you’re unsure because then you’ll look daft,” she warned. (C) Cover Media
