Mel C: There's no Spice rift

23rd July 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mel C has branded rumours of a Spice Girls rift "absolute bulls**t".

It has been reported that Victoria Beckham only agreed to reunite with her former bandmates at the London Olympics closing ceremony on the understanding it will be the final time she'll ever perform with them. MailOnline also claims that Geri Halliwell couldn't image talking to Victoria again after the performance.

However, Mel C has now taken to her Twitter account to deny rumours of a rift.

"Just for the record the Spice story in the Mail today is absolute bull***t (sic)," she wrote on Monday morning.

The publication also claimed that Mel B feels Victoria has "lost the spirit of the band".

There is a great deal of speculation surrounding whether the Spice Girls will perform at the upcoming Olympic Games.

While Mel C has expressed an interest in taking to the stage, Victoria's representative insists the band's appearance at the Olympics is not confirmed.

"The Spice Girls have received some amazing invitations to perform over the last few years, however personal family and professional reasons mean this has not been possible," the representative said. "[The] Olympics is one more amazing opportunity but no announcement has been made or confirmation given, so this is nothing more than speculation at this time."

Victoria is showing no signs of strain following rumours she is distancing herself from the group.

Over the weekend the singer-turned-fashion designer was in London with her family. They took advantage of the sunshine and enjoyed a trip along the River Thames.

"London is AMAZING!!! so beautiful!!!! love being home, on a boat trip with the kids!!! x vb (sic)" Victoria wrote on Saturday.

The star travelled to France on Monday, and was clearly looking forward to visiting its fashionable capital city.

"Bonjour!!! So excited!!!! on the way to Paris!!! X vb" Victoria tweeted earlier today. "Ville lumire, j'arrive. A trs bientt! x VB (sic)" (C) Cover Media
