(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mena Suvari will dissolve her marriage with Simone Sestito.

TMZ reports that the 32-year-old American Pie actress filed divorce papers at the Los Angeles County Superior Court today.

According to the documents, Mena cited "irreconcilable differences" as the cause for their split.

Mena requests that the judge prevent Simone from receiving any spousal support. The star also wants to change her name from Mena Suvari-Sestito back to Mena Suvari.

The documents state that the couple were officially separated on the first of November 2011.

Mena married the 25-year-old Italian-Canadian concert promoter in June 2010 during an intimate ceremony in Italy's romantic capital Rome.

Last summer, Mena spoke about how happy she was with married life.

"It's wonderful," she gushed to the British edition of OK! magazine.

"We just had our one-year anniversary. I was here [in Atlanta] working on American Reunion, so Simone came down to visit me. We were hoping that we could have gone back to Rome, where we were married, for our anniversary, but we'll make it back there again."

This will be Mena's second divorce as the star ended her five-year marriage to cinematographer Robert Brinkmann in 2005. (C) Cover Media
