Michael Bay shocked studio with movie cost

28th June 2011

(Cover) - EN Movies - Michael Bay "shocked" Paramount when he told them how much Transformers: Dark Of The Moon was going to cost.

The director believes audiences have been palmed off with budget movies for too long and told the studio exactly how much he was going to spend on creating the third Transformers blockbuster.

While he denies that the movie cost $400 million to make, he admitted that studio bosses were taken aback when he revealed the sum.

"There are many movies that have done it very badly. The studios have gone for quick profits and audiences are feeling [angry]. People aren't taking the time and spending the money to do it right. I am," he said. "I don't comment on budgets. But I did tell Paramount that it was going to be expensive to shoot this in 3D, and they were a little shocked at the price. But you really want to know how much this one costs? A movie ticket."

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon is released in the UK and America on June 29 and stars Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. (C) Cover Media
