Michael Bubl: Failure terrifies me

3rd November 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Michael Bubl says he is more afraid of failure than ever before.

The singer has sold in excess of 35 million records worldwide and won a host of awards during his career. He is currently promoting his Christmas album, which is expected to be another hit. Michael admits being at the top of his game makes him realise how much he could lose.

"I'm more afraid of failure now than I have ever been," he told British magazine GQ. "It's only recently I've understood the maths of what make artists go up and down. They make too much money. They have too many people blowing smoke up their ass. You have to have that fear and desperation. Always want to do something better."

Michael is aware the music industry is going through a rough patch.

The 36-year-old star feels lucky to have impressive record sales and a loyal fan base behind him. He realise how tough it can be for new acts emerging on the scene.

"The trend won't be reversed. The train has left the station," he explained. "But music is not dying, it's evolving. That's OK. I just feel lucky. I'm Indiana Jones. I slid under that closing door just as it was coming down. I just got in." (C) Cover Media
