(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Sir Michael Caine says he met Tom Cruise when he was a teenager and knew he was destined for stardom.

The 77-year-old Hollywood legend has revealed he was introduced to Cruise before he hit the big time and he predicted he would be a success on the big screen. Caine says Cruise, who was then 16, asked him for advice on how to make it in the movie industry and the older star was only too happy to help.

We had a big party for Educating Rita in Hollywood and this young man started asking me how to get on in the business, Caine said in an interview with British newspaper The Sunday Mirror. I told my wife, I have a funny feeling about this guy, were going to hear about him.

The British star also spoke about working with singer-and-actress Beyonc Knowles on the 2002 comedy Austin Powers in Goldmember. He has revealed the stunning star was slightly overwhelmed by the impressive film set and cast and took a while to come out of her shell. However, Caine is thrilled Knowles went on to flourish in her movie career.

There was one beautiful, very shy young girl I worked with on Goldmember. Beyonc Knowles was just 18 back then, he added. Now shes one of the biggest stars in the world. (C) Cover Media
