Mila Kunis: I chose acting over school

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mila Kunis says she tries to make smart [career] choices instead of choices made for fun.

The 27-year-old actress is best known for her role playing Jackie Burkhart on the now defunct That '70s Show, and has revealed the dilemma she faced when her time on the programme ended.

The star was the first person in her family not to graduate from college, as during the making of the show she discovered combining acting and college wouldnt be feasible. Mila insists her lack of education has spurred her determination to prove she can be successful and make intelligent choices.

"I had to make a conscious decision about what I wanted to do with my life," she recalled. "During the show, I had attempted to go to college, but I realised that the traffic in L.A. made it too difficult for me to go to school at 6am and be back at work at 10am.

I asked my parents if it was OK if I dropped out. They said OK, you can defer until after your contract with That '70s Show ends. And then it ended. I realised for the first time that I couldn't imagine doing anything else. So I had to make acting a career - to make smart choices instead of choices made for fun."

Milas gamble has paid off, and critics have been quick to hail her as one of Hollywoods most promising young talents. The star has received high praise for her performance as ballerina Lily in Black Swan, although Mila admits she still shudders thinking back to the costumes she had to wear for the movie, notably pointe shoes which allow dancers to move on tip toe.

"I will never dance again... I was like, 'Well - I wear heels; I can do this.' I was wrong: Christian Louboutins are uncomfortable, but I screamed the first time I put on a pointe shoe," the actress told W magazine. (C) Cover Media
