(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Miley Cyrus father Billy Ray Cyrus has called off his divorce plans.

The country star announced that he and wife Leticia Tish Cyrus had split after 17 years of marriage in October last year. Miley was said to have been left devastated by her parents decision to go their separate ways and has had a strained relationship with Billy in recent months.

However, Billy has now reconsidered his divorce plans and wants to do everything he can to make his family happy.

"I've dropped the divorce," he said during an interview on The View scheduled to air in the US today. "I want to put my family back together Things are the best they've ever been.

Communication I think is one of the biggest problems that we as human beings have in this whole world and I think for the first time me and my entire family are finally communicating with each other in a way that its been quite some time.

The 49-year-old also revealed he is starting to repair relations with Miley. Billy is believed to have upset his teenage daughter after a candid magazine interview was published in which he said Mileys appearance in Disney television show Hannah Montana had destroyed his family. He also claimed she is surrounded by negative influences and was in danger of going off the rails.

Billy is now spending more time with Miley and has had time to think about some of the outspoken comments he made.

"I feel like I got my Miley back in a way. I feel like we are the daddy and daughter that we were before Hannah Montana happened, he explained. "I don't think Hannah Montana ruined my family... Now fame, fame is a different animal. You've got to be careful with that thing." (C) Cover Media
