Lankapathi 'Raavan' seems the one mythological identity that intersts many. Last year, we had Vikram playing 'Raavanan' in Mani Ratnam's Tamil movie of the same name and Abhishek Bachchan in it's Hindi version. This year it was Arjun Rampal playing the modern version named 'Ra.One' in Shah Rukh Khan's bollywood sci-fi of the same name.
Soon we might have another modern Raavan, and this time, played by none other that Nagarjuna Akkineni! The character is named 'Raavan Raju', who is the head of a corporate chain in Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming next - Ramayanam.
This one's definitely not a run-of-the-mill story. RGV is giving the story a twist. It is about the rivalry of two corporate houses, Ayodhya Group of Industries and the Lanka Group of Industries.
A source mentioned that RGV approached Nagarjuna as soon as the concept took shape in his mind. "The director said that he has always been fascinated with the Hindi Epic and wanted to give it a contemporary twist," added the source.
