Nagarjuna to join politics?

27th February 2012

A fresh debate is on in Tollywood. That whether Nagarjuna would enter politics or not. At the inauguration of a jewellery showroom in Tirupati, the top actor of Telugu cinema expressed his desire to join politics.

Answering to a question, Nagarjuna, son of legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, said, 'I am a keen observer of politics and feel like taking the plunge, but don't know if I will fit the bill or not.'

Sporting a new short hairdo for his latest film on Shirdi Sai Baba, Nagarjuna said, 'Politics is not my forte. But I like politics. Political institutions are important for a healthy society. We also want political leaders to steer us.'

Nagarjuna said he admired some of the welfare schemes launched by former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. This has led to a guessing game whether the actor would enrol himself in the Congress or YSR Congress.
