(Cover) - EN Movies - Naomie Harris has spoken about her "top secret" audition for the new James Bond movie.

The British actress has confirmed rumours she could play the next Bond girl, after revealing she met with director Sam Mendes. However, the star has no idea what type of character she could be playing because she auditioned with a script from a previous 007 film.

"All I can say is I've met the Bond team, I've met Sam Mendes, they're all wonderful. I've auditioned for Bond," she told Newsbeat. "My audition was really great actually because it's so top secret, the whole Bond thing.

"I've auditioned for a lot of things before but never for something where you can't see the script, it's that secret. I auditioned with a scene from Quantum of Solace. You don't know what role you're going up for either, so everybody gets given a scene from a previous Bond movie."

Naomie whose previous movie credits include Pirates of the Caribbean and 28 Days Later is excited at the prospect of landing a role in the famous spy franchise. She is a huge Bond fan and grew up watching the movies with her family.

"I don't know whether it's true or not that I'm going to be an intelligent Bond girl. I don't know at all but I'd like it!" Naomie, 34, added. "I've been the biggest fan of Bond for the longest time. I love the Bond movies. My whole family loves it and they'd be so proud of me."

Bond 23 is scheduled to begin production later this year and is slated for an October 2012 release. (C) Cover Media
