Nawaz's Eastern India shooting woes

12th January 2015

Of late, there have been many films those were shot in West Bengal. But unfortunately,Nawazuddin Siddiqui's upcoming film couldn't have the same luck.

The film directed by Kushan Nandy, had to be rescheduled due to many administrative issues with the Federation of Cine Technicians and Workers of Eastern India (FCTWEI).

Apparently the technicians were unhappy with the payment and hence there was a lot of commotion throughout the schedule.

The film was initially being shot in Bolpur, in the Birbhum District of West Bengal, but due to the trouble created by the FCTWEI, the location was shifted to Burdwan, a city in the same state.

Even there, the things didn't work out in their favour. Hence the makers decided to drop the idea of shooting in West Bengal altogether.

"The places that were chosen were apt for the film, but the rules of FCTWEI are such that it became very difficult for us to continue shooting there. We have decided not to go back there to shoot again," said Nawazuddin who leads the film.
