(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ne-Yo is impressed with the way Justin Bieber "gets his Elvis Presley on" while performing.
The R&B star had the chance to sign the Canadian teenager before he made it big but decided not to, leaving the way clear for Usher to snap him up. It's a decision Ne-Yo bitterly regrets, but writing tracks for Justin has made up for it somewhat.
The two singers still talk to each other regularly, with Ne-Yo impressed with the way Justin is handling fame. He watched him perform at the recent Billboard Awards in Las Vegas and was blown away.
"I did see him in his gold jacket. He was getting his Elvis Presley on! I admire him for that," Ne-Yo explained.
"I did one session for him but then I got super, duper busy and I haven't gotten a chance to do it again. They got my number, they know where I am!"
The 31-year-old is currently working on his new album, which is a follow up to last year's Libra Scale. A host of other artists are clamouring to be involved with the release, which Ne-Yo says will be different to his last offering.
Libra Scale was based on a short story which some people found complex, but this one is focused on the music.
"I've reached out to new friends, from Busta Rhymes, to Drake, to Lil Wayne, to Chris [Brown]. Don't know exactly what will be on the album yet because we're still in the process of putting it together, but I got some T-Pain, Trey Songz, some cool people in the line up," he explained to the American edition of OK! magazine.
"This album is all about listening to the music and vibing out. It's music that you clean your house to, ride to, that you do homework do, whatever the case may be. There is a song for the occasion." (C) Cover Media
