Ne-Yo not interested in new Jackson album

20th December 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ne-Yo has spoken out against Michael Jacksons posthumous album.

The 28-year-old R&B star was a massive fan of Michaels, and cites the late music icon as one of his biggest inspirations.

The pop genius tragically passed away at the age of 50 in June 2009, and a posthumous record entitled Michael was released in tribute to him earlier this month.

The album features ten songs, many of which Michael had been working on at the time of his death, and Ne-Yo thinks the new material wouldnt have satisfied Michaels famously high standards.

I havent heard it yet. Im not really trying to hear it, he told website TMZ.

"If Michael was still alive ... I don't think the album would be out yet."

Ne-Yo isnt the only musician to show his distaste for the record - Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am has also spoke out against it, arguing Michaels unfinished tracks should have been left alone.

Meanwhile, Ne-Yo says he will continue to enjoy listening to Michaels classic pop anthems, as he feels the multi-talented stars immense back catalogue provides more than enough musical entertainment.

"I'm gonna stick to my old Mike, he added. (C) Cover Media
