26th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Movies - Neil Burger is being lined up to direct the upcoming adaptation of Bonnie and Clyde.

The filmmaker, who recently helmed hit Limitless, starring Bradley Cooper, is reportedly in discussions to adapt the 2009 book Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde by Jeff Guinn.

According to Deadline, the American film director, who recently boarded the adaptation of video game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, is in talks to direct the film, which is based on the script written by Sheldon Turner.

Sean and Bryan Furst are producing the picture.

Development for the project is being financed by Marissa McMahon - the daughter-in-law of WWE head Vince McMahon.

The movie will reportedly not be about a modern day retelling of the story of Bonnie and Clyde, the notorious outlaws who thrived in the 1930s.

Rather, Neil and Sheldon are expected to create a more accurate look at the pair as they enjoyed their illustrious criminal careers during the Great Depression. (C) Cover Media
