(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Nick Cannon says listening to advice helps him survive in business.

The 30-year-old star is a self-declared entrepreneur whose credits include comedian, musician and television host. Nick has seen his stock rise over the past decade confirming his business minded stance. He is quick to point out however that he still listens to advice from more experienced entertainers in order to progress.

Nick gave special mention to fellow entrepreneur Russell Simmons and legendary producer Quincy Jones who have always motivated him.

One person who has inspired by more than anyone is Russell Simmons, I sit and talk with him for hours on end about the moves he makes and how he affected a culture. I talk to Quincy Jones about that too. Being able to spend time with people who Ive looked up to for many years and seeing how theyve changed the world with their ideas and blazing trails theyve been an example for me, he said.

Nick, who is expecting his first child with wife Mariah Carey, started his career in comedy and as a result feels he is sometimes pigeonholed in the genre. Now a respected businessman, Nick has revealed one of his pet hates in the business sector.
