The 32-year-old singer has just embarked on a solo career following her successful stint with pop band the Pussycat Dolls. Since her emergence, Nicole has been lauded for her toned physique whilst appearing scantily clad in various music videos, but the star divulges she wasnt always as happy in her own skin.

Nicole admits that her strict religious upbringing in Hawaii meant she often chastised herself for wearing revealing clothes, a situation that she has managed to control.

I come from a Catholic background that was very conservative, so I wasnt comfortable showing off my body and was self-conscious about myself. But I learned to deal with that. I was much harder on myself when I was younger and thats changed now that Ive matured, she told Look magazine. (C) Cover Media
