Neither will Shah Rukh Khan play himself on screen, nor will he allow anyone to make a biopic on him.
This was Badshah Shah Rukh Khan's response, when asked about would he like to watch or make a film on his life, the actor answered "NO".
Though he said no to a biopic on his life, the actor asserted that he won't mind starring in a biopic based on somebody else's life.
He said, "I am for biopics. I would love to do one if I suit the role. But if you are asking me if I want someone to make a biopic on me, I'd say no! I will be very honest. It is very awkward to think of myself as so important that I should play me on screen! As a matter of fact, my personal life is so unimportant that I would never allow a Shah Rukh Khan to star in it. I would rather say to myself, 'Tum bohut baade star ho, Itne chhote aadmi ke life ke baare mein hum tumko nahi le sakta'(Laughs) I would never get cast to play my own life because I don't think my life is so important or interesting."
Instead he advised the filmmakers to start making biopics on legendary stars of Bollywood. "You have Amitji, Kishore Kumarji, Lataji, Mohd Rafi saab, Guru Dutt, Raj Kapoorsaab, Dilip Kumar saab, Yash — there are so many people that you can write about, stories which are more interesting and more pertinent to the film industry than mine. I am too small a person to have a film made about my life," he added.
