No subsidy, producers to approach government

7th April 2011
The producers of 'Bandhu Balaga', 'Vamshi', 'Ambari', 'Bombat', 'Circus', 'Junglee' and 'Minchina Ota' are feeling deceived by the subsidy award committee and have decided to approach the government for justice.

The producers state that getting Rs.10 lakhs is not the important thing but giving subsidies to 16 year old films like 'Chendulli Cheluvi', 'Nanna Mathu Sullalla', 'Taxi No.1', 'Ugragami', 'KA 09-333' – films that are not seen by the public, is an issue.

The subsidy committee headed by Shivashanker has outright rejected films by Shivarajakumar, Puneeth Rajakumar, Yogish, Ganesh, Vijay, Vijaya Raghavendra- Srimurali and this has created a big round of controversy.

The argument is that the government subsidy is going to the wrong persons.
