On-screen Abhishek takes Charge in real life

29th March 2011

Not many stars in Bollywood do what they say, but Abhishek is from a different league and only does what he totally believes in. Abhishek Bachchan, who play's a super-cop in his forth-coming film, 'Dum Maaro Dum', scandalizes the drug mafia spread in Goa, but apart from his on-screen avatar, even off-screen, Abhishek wants a drug-free society. Along with Narcotics Control Bureau, he has initiated a mission to curb and stop the youth's inclination towards drugs. Abhishek was the guest of honor at the silver jubilee celebrations at the Narcotics Control Bureau, where he instigated 'Awareness Run Against Drug Abuse Campaign' that promises to make people aware of the evils of drugs. Abhishek even tweeted about this with "Just flagged of a great initiative by the Narcotics Control Bureau - say no to drugs! They're doing great work in helping educate people."

In an era where stars take an ugly route to promote their film by going out of their way to participate in controversies, Abhishek's honest and rational way, though done for the promotion of a film, comes with a breeze of fresh air. We hope this initiative has a mutual effect by helping Abhishek in making his film a hit, and at the same time, having a positive influence over drug users.
