December 10, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):It has been more than a year we lost the King of Pop Michael Jackson but he is still hitting the headlines frequently across the world. The pop stars last memories were supposed to appear in the form of an album titled Michael, which consisted of some unreleased music by the late star and also his collaborations with other stars like Lenny Kravitz and rapper 50 cent.
Now, the latest reports suggest that the hackers did not spare even the King of Pop and his album Michael has been leaked online just days before its release on December 13. Hackers have made it available to the file-sharing websites. As a result, the Michael fans will easily get hold of the album at free of cost.
This latest development will hugely affect the big record companies, who are bringing out the DVD version of the much talked album. Music giants Sony and Epic Records are worried about their business now because fans will easily get access to the album online for free so hardly anyone will turn up for buying the DVD. This will cost the record companies a loss of about 100 million pounds.
This will come as a big blow to the music industry, which has earned millions with Michael Jacksons tracks earlier. The record companies were keeping the album a top secret but now it has become an open secret due to the internet hackers.
Sony had signed a deal of 200 million pound in this March for getting the distribution rights until 2017. But this recent leaking of the album online has left them in a very tight situation.
We will have to wait till December 13 to know the fate of the record companies after this leakage.
