Orlando Bloom: My son changed me

15th October 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Orlando Bloom believes being a father helps him "focus" more on his career.

The 34-year-old actor recently had his first child with wife supermodel Miranda Kerr. Their nine-month-old son Flynn is the joy of Orlando's life.

Flynn is now Orlando's top priority.

"There's no time for anything other than what you feel really is important. Everything comes into focus," Orlando explained to British newspaper The Sun. "There was all that other nonsense you used to spend time worrying about, then, hang on a second, I've got this three-hour block here before I'm going to get baby puke on me. What am I going to do with that?"

Orlando took a short break from acting to spend time with his expanding family. Now that he has a child to look after Orlando is intent on applying an entirely new philosophy to his career.

"I just took a little bit of time to get my head straight, have a baby and a family and now I'm enthused about working a whole different way," Orlando declared.

Orlando returns to the big screen in The Three Musketeers 3D this year. He will also begin filming The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Although his professional life is about to get busy again, Orlando will not neglect his family duties. He desires to be as good a father as his own dad has been to him throughout the years.

"I was lucky because my dad is a huge part of my life today and he's super excited about being a granddad, and I'm excited about it too, so he's amazing," Orlando said.

The Three Musketeers 3D will be released in US theatres on October 21. (C) Cover Media
