Ozzy Osbourne: Reality TV is tough

1st June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ozzy Osbourne thinks a career in the music industry is easier than being a reality TV star.

The veteran rocker has been in the music business for more than 40 years and is best known as the frontman of heavy metal rock band Black Sabbath.

The 62-year-old musician's career expanded to a new medium when he became a star of reality show The Osbournes, alongside wife and manager Sharon and two of their children, Kelly and Jack.

Ozzy says the experience sent him "nuts".

"What I learnt from that is that I'd never ever have a camera crew full time in my house. That alone sends you nuts. It got to me and I started drinking heavily again. I can tell you now, that was totally real. But the reality shows now ain't real. It's easier doing music," he explained in an interview with BBC.

Ozzy was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979. The long haired singer then went on to produce two successful records, Blizzards of Ozz and Diary of a Madman. Ozzy is overwhelmed by his continuing success in the music business.

"I thought my career was over then I came back with two phenomenal albums. They were monumental. I'm very. very blessed, I'm very lucky to have my career. I mean I've been doing it for 45 years," he confessed.

Ozzy has revealed there could be a Black Sabbath reunion. The band, also comprising of members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, parted ways after they were dogged with alcohol and drug issues. Ozzy says although a reformation could be possible, it would probably be unwise.

"I wouldn't say yes, I wouldn't say. It's very possible but knowing the way we were, it could all fall apart," he added. (C) Cover Media
