(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Patrick Dempsey has joked that he doesnt go to the gym so he wont have to take his top off on screen.

The 44-year-old actor plays neurosurgeon Dr. Derek Shepherd in the hit US television series Greys Anatomy. He has joked that his new on-screen colleague Jesse Williams - who plays Dr. Jackson Avery - has the raw end of the deal on set because he works out and has a muscular physique.

This means that Jesse is asked to strip for the cameras more often than Patrick, which makes the older actor breathe a sigh of relief.

Patrick says his castmate is nice and warned him that by having a good body, he was setting himself up for more onscreen nudity.

Hes so down to earth and so nice and he was a school teacher for a number of years so hes got a great nurturing quality, Patrick told Extra about Jesse. We did a scene the other night where hes got his shirt off again and I was like See what you got yourself in for? Thats why I dont even work out.

The good looking actor also revealed that the latest season of the show is taking on a new dimension to keep viewers fascinated and enthralled.

He insists both the cast and crew are willing to take risks to ensure the medical dramas faithful fans are entertained.

If were tired of the story lines then the audience is definitely tired of the storylines, Patrick said. We have to keep it fresh and I think coming out of the end of last season that was a complete departure from what weve been doing and I think the stuff thats happening this year- were taking chances and not afraid to try different things and I think we need to continue in that direction.
