(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Pauly D and his Jersey Shore castmates "teared up" when they learned their show had been cancelled.

MTV News announced that it will be ending the hit reality show following the upcoming sixth season's broadcast.

Stars Pauly, Snooki, JWoww, Deena Cortese, The Situation and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro were all choked up when they heard the news.

"Everybody teared up, production teared up, we teared up, we couldn't believe it, I can't picture not going back to Seaside for the summertime," Pauly D told MTV News.

"I feel like it's home."

Pauly can't wait to see what fans think of the final season.

With The Situation being sober and new mother Snooki expecting her first child, the dynamics on set were completely new.

"I'm excited. It was probably one of my favourite seasons to film," he gushed.

"It was so cool because a lot of things are different now, with Snooki being pregnant [at the time], Mike just getting out of rehab, but how we deal with that and how we all come together as a family, that was the best part about it."

The first episode of the last season of Jersey Shore will air in October. (C) Cover Media
