People demand for action films, says Akki

The trend of larger than life action films has dominated Bollywood in recent times. More and more stars and filmmakers are joining the bandwagon to create an action-flick genre in order to reap benefits of popular demands.

Akshay Kumar who recently delivered the action-comedy hit 'Khiladi 786' claims that these films are demanded by the audiences. "The kind of action we see onscreen is superficial. When you give them what they want, you are being true to your profession. In the same way, audiences have certain expectations out of action — it should be larger-than-life. And we as actors, directors, cater to that need," said Akshay.

Akki adds that the action might be fake but as far as it is enjoyable, it is all good. "How much of it is factual or fake, it doesn’t matter to them as long as they enjoy it. It’s not that there’s a demand for such action only in India, it’s the same all over the world," added Akshay.

The actor returned to the 'Khiladi' franchise in full swing where he resumed full fledged action sequences in 'Rowdy Rathore', both of which were his forte in the past.
