Prince Harry drops photo complaint

28th September 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Britain's Prince Harry won't be pursuing his complaint with the Press Complaints Commission (PCC) over his naked picture scandal.

The royal made headlines in August when he was snapped in the nude after playing a game of strip billiards in his Las Vegas hotel suite.

The 27-year-old had filed a complaint after British newspaper The Sun printed the pictures.

However, Harry is currently serving as an Apache helicopter co-pilot gunner in Afghanistan and won't be taking the grievance any further.

"We remain of the opinion that a hotel room is a private space where its occupants would have a reasonable expectation of privacy," the St. James' Palace spokesperson said.

"Prince Harry is currently focused entirely on his deployment in Afghanistan, so to pursue a complaint relating to his private life would not be appropriate at this time and would prove to be a distraction."

The spokesperson added: "We have concluded that it would not be prudent to pursue the matter further, and we will have no further comment to make about the matter."

The Sun was the only British newspaper to go against the PCC advisory not to publish the pictures. (C) Cover Media
