December 15, 2010 (Showbiz PR Wire): The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced last evening and as expected, Danny Boyles 127 Hours bags 3 nominations, including Best Actor (Drama) and Best Screenplay.
After the phenomenal success of Slumdog Millionaire, Director Danny Boyle once again teamed up with Fox Searchlight Pictures, producer Christian Colson, writer Simon Beaufoy & musical maestro AR Rahman for 127 Hours - an action drama starring James Franco.
The film is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralstons (played by James Franco) remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. Over the next five days Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the courage and the wherewithal to extricate himself by any means necessary, scale a 65 foot wall and hike over eight miles before he is finally rescued. Throughout his journey, Ralston recalls friends, lovers (Clemence Poesy), family, and the two hikers (Amber Tamblyn and Kate Mara) he met before his accident; wondering if they will be the last two people he ever had the chance to meet.
Going through a highly successful phased release across the globe, 127 Hours is slated for release in India in January 2011.
Mr. Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios India comments, We are delighted with the response and buzz that 127 Hours is garnering across the world. It is a very special film and the awards are a testimony to its brilliance. AR Rahman being nominated once again for his brilliant music score in the film makes it very special for every Indian. We are looking forward to the January release and believe that the Indian audiences will appreciate this outstanding film, just like they did Slumdog Millionaire.

3) Simon Beaufoy, Screenwriter, 127 HOURS
Best SCREENPLAY
It is a great honor to be nominated for a Golden Globe. Thank you to the HFPA. We could never have found the key to unlocking this script without Aron's help and permission to tell his story with unflinching eyes. Nor would this script have worked without James in front of the camera and Danny and his team behind- the camera. They made the words fly.
Danny Boyle, Director & Screenwriter, comments, We're absolutely delighted to be included in the nominations for the Golden Globes especially as HFPA were so generous to us on Slumdog 2 years ago. I'm particularly pleased for James as it's such a brave and exhilarating performance, and for Aron Ralston who took such a leap of faith in letting us tell his story in such an uncompromising way.
Christian Colson, Producer, 127 HOURS adds, On behalf of everyone involved in making 127 HOURS, a huge thank you to HFPA and congratulations to all this year's nominees! We are thrilled by these nominations. I am particularly excited that James Francos extraordinary screen performance has been recognized alongside Danny Boyle, Simon Beaufoy and AR Rahman.
