(Cover) - EN Star Style - Rachel Bilson's mother used to straighten her hair with a clothing iron when she was little.

The actress has grown up to be one of the most stylish stars around, with fans the world over keen to emulate her look. She hasn't always been as effortlessly chic as she is now though, revealing when she was at school she went to great lengths to ensure her hair was as straight as possible.

"When I was younger, I was adamant about wearing my hair sleek. My mother used to straighten it with a clothing iron!" she laughed.

Rachel's love of fashion is legendary and it's something she talks about regularly. She's revealed she can't sleep unless she's put some thought into what she'll wear the next day, and it's always been that way.

"I know this sounds terribly shallow, but I've been mapping out my outfits every day since I was little, even before high school," she told magazine InStyle Makeover. "I have a very busy mind - there's a constant chitter-chatter up there - but what I'm wearing the next day? That's definitely something that's always been in my head before I go to sleep at night."

The 29-year-old learnt to love fashion when she was very little. Aged two she knew what she wanted to wear and what she disliked, and had no problem informing her family of her choices.

"My aunt Julie introduced me to Barneys and designers at a very young age," she laughed. "And my mom was a huge vintage freak. Even when I was two years old, I insisted on dressing myself. I still have this tattered blue and purple carnival dress that my aunt brought back from Spain for me that I wore every day when I was a kid!" (C) Cover Media
