Reaching the age of 76 years this May, of which 60 years have been in film music, Rajan started doing film music at the age of 16 and was later joined by Nagendra. He has scored music for about 400 films in his career so far.

“Except for the culture maintained by Dr Rajakumar and Ananthnag no one gives a hoot for a person like me”, says the veteran, speaking to a few journalists.

Asked on that he has earned so far, from the industry, he says it is only people's affection. The listeners taste has not changed but today music is trying to corrupt the evergreen melodies, he says.

This veteran is upset about the IPRS rules too. The audio cassette companies have taken hold, without deviating revenue to the original scorers, he says with bit of sorrow in his face.
