November 13, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Bengali television actor Rajdeep Gupta, the very lovable Ishaan of mega serial Ogo Bodhu Shundori, for the first time speaks out on the reasons as to why he had to opt out of a role which had made him a household name in Bengal. In a statement to the media, Rajdeep Gupta cites health reason as the primary cause of walking out of Ogo Bodhu Shundori. The DJ turns actor says that he had to undergo an operation, something which the doctor had told him could not wait for long as treatment was very essential. Rajdeep Gupta says that though he was able to obtain a leave from the Ravi Ojha production house, they later asked him to sign a two-year contract, a commitment that he was not prepared to make at such an early stage of his career.

Rajdeep Gupta says that he will utilize the break to not only undergo the required treatment, but also to prepare himself for his future stint on the big screen. The actor confirms that he had been approached by directors like Sujoy Ghosh for his upcoming Hindi film 'Kahaani' and also by Kaushik Ganguly to play the role of a DJ in Rangmilanti, a youth centric film which is being considered as one of the most promising releases next year.

Speaking on the allegations that he was a regular latecomer on the sets of Ogo Bodhu Shundori, Rajdeep Ghosh says that he was never late and also added that he made it a point to shoot for long stretches and at times when his health would not permit him. The actor presently has no offers in hand but is waiting for something good to crop up anytime soon and the audience too, is waiting to see him on screen once again.
