Dadasaheb Phalke award winner and veteran film producer D Ramanaidu was honoured with the Ghantasala Smaraka Puraskara Satkaram by the Ghantasala Smaraka Peetham and Ghantasala Sangeetha Kalasala in Vishakapatnam.

Speaking on the occasion, he vowed to make Visakhapatnam a film-maker's destination with all facilities required. The film studio here would be developed in such a way that one could shoot the film and walk out with the print, he said.

Rama Naidu said that without Ghantasala, there was no melody in Telugu song. He said that the music and songs of Ghantasala, especially the Bhagavad Gita, are masterpieces forever.

Going down memory lane, Naidu said if the NTR-starrer "Ramudu-Bheemudu" was the seed of his eventful career, ANR's Premnagar was the tree.

He recalled his close association with legendary singer Ghantasala and said he would endeavour for the establishment of Ghantasala Sangita Kalasala at Visakhapatnam.
