Raman Raghav 2.0 lauded at Cannes Film Festival

Anurag Kashyap's upcoming film 'Raman Raghav 2.0' which stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role was screened at the ongoing Cannes film festival. The film is already getting applauded from every nook and corner. The film will also be screened in the Sydney film festival.

Before the screening of the film at Cannes Anurag Kashyap tweeted, "First screening has begun.. House is packed .. Hmmmmm."  When Nawazuddin entered the hall he was welcomed with a huge round of applause for his portrayal of the psychopathic killer Raman who ruled the streets of Mumbai in the mid 1960s.

'Raman Raghav 2.0' also earned plaudits on the foreign shores, with hollywoodreporter.com stating that "Siddiqui's demented serial killer ups the scare ante" and variety.com commenting that "the verve and nerve of Kashyap's filmmaking continues to excite."

Nawazuddin had been a regular visitor at Cannes. 'Raman Raghav 2.0' is his eighth film which showcased in the festival post 'The Lunchbox', 'Gangs of Wasseypur', 'Miss Lovely' and 'Liar's Dice' to name a few. His debut film named 'Miyan kal Aana' directed by his own brother Shamas Siddiqui was also screened at the festival.
