Ranveer Singh to star in Magadheera remake

There have been rumors of Telugu hit film "Magadheera" being made in Hindi and some of the big names from Bollywood were rumoured to be a part of it.

It was earlier reported that some producers have already bought the remake rights of the 2009 Telegu superhit film. Bollywood biggies like Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor were approached to be a part of the big budget film. However it is actor  Ranveer Singh who has been finalized for the film. Filmmakers Vikas Bahl and Anurag Kashyap have apparently bagged the remake deal. Filmmaker Vikas Bahl confirmed the project, "Magadheera" is a passion project for us, and we are excited to have the rights to re-create this magical piece of work”. So they finally decided to cast Ranveer Singh in the film where he will play the lead role of a warrior which was played by Ram Charan in the original. “Ranveer is the best thing that could have happened to the film. He has all the acting skills in him to play the role of a passionate lover, a warrior and an entertainer, all at the same time.

Vikas also added," Recreating the magic of "Magadheera" would not have been possible without the support of Allu Arvind , who produced the original film.

The film "Magadheera" is about an epic love story set in the backdrop of 17th century India.
