(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Reese Witherspoon is sporting a black eye.

The Oscar winning actress went to a birthday party in Los Angeles yesterday where she was seen with the injuries she incurred after being hit by a car last week.

Reese has a large bruise around her left eye as well as a cut on her forehead which she has covered up with a band aid.

The incident happened six days ago when the mother-of-two was run over by an 84-year-old driver while out jogging.

But Reese was all smiles as she carted gifts into the party and did not seem to be letting the incident get her down.

The 35-year-old was taken to hospital and was released soon after because doctors deemed her injuries to be minor.

The elderly driver, who was going 20mph, is said to feel awful about the incident and was also shaken up by what happened.

A family member has told TMZ that she has stayed off the road since the accident and her citation means she will be required to retake her driving test.

The elderly lady is due back in court on October 7 but Reese has not pressed any charges against the pensioner. (C) Cover Media
