An iconic singer, Rahul Dev Burman (R. D. Burman) is very much remembered on his birthday. He is considered as one of the seminal music directors of Indian cinema.
Born in Kolkata, Burman attended St. Joseph's school. He started composing music at the age of nine. His first song was 'Aye meri topi palat ke aa' and then later 'Sar jo tera chakraaye'.
