Revealed: SRK's plans to celebrate 1000th week of 'DDLJ'

30th November 2014

YRF's epic tale of romance 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' enjoyed the longest run at Maratha Mandir theatre in Mumbai. The film will complete its 1000th week on December 12, 2014.

On this occasion star cast of the movie and people associated with it, will watch the film in the theatre before it is pulled off.

Shah Rukh Khan said, "Few days ago, I had a talk with Kajol. There will be some interviews where we will talk about the film. Also, there was some 15-20 minutes footage from the film which was edited that will be shown to everyone. I haven't met Adi (director Aditya Chopra) recently, but we are planning to watch the film at Maratha Mandir when DDLJ completes 1000 weeks. Not only for me, Kajol, Adi or for a particular generation, this film defines an era. Everybody has a certain connect with that film; I still hear stories of people saying that we got married because of DDLJ. It has now become much more than just a film."

"So the 1000 weeks completion, we believed is the perfect moment for all of us to come together again. It is definitely a milestone, as well because if I am not wrong, DDLJ is the second longest running film in the world. I am proud to be a part of such a film. As Yashji is no more, unki yaad ke liye bhi, we will do something for Dilwale...," he concludes.
