There is no escaping branding in Bollywood and Richa Chadda experienced her share soon after the release of 'Gangs Of Wasseypur'. The Delhi girl says she was immediately typecast as someone who should portray strong female characters.
In fact, she says that someone 'very correctly' told her that she's become an 'arthouse pin-up now'. "I don't know if that's a good or bad thing, but it is certainly not something I have encouraged, or something that I mind. I'm still not so experienced to think that I have a certain branding or positioning in the industry," she said.
But, she is now ready for some change and it starts with a rom-com that she has signed with Neil Nitin Mukesh, being directed by debutante Prerna Wadhawan.
Confirms Richa, "It is an untitled rom-com, where I play another strong female character, who looks at love in a slightly different way. The writer of the film is also a woman, in fact, my senior from St. Stephen's college in Delhi. I'm very excited to be finally doing something fun and my age, rather than playing Nawaz's mother!"
