Ricki Lake swore off of love following her divorce from illustrator Rob Sussman in 2003.

But a chance encounter with Christian Evans has renewed her faith and says she has found "true love" and is ecstatic about marrying her fianc.

The 43-year-old actress revealed that she was "ready to throw in the towel" of ever meeting a great guy until she met Christian.

"On my 42nd birthday, true love walked into my life, and I am not letting it out," Ricki wrote on her iVillage blog today.

"The kindest, most caring spirit was just around the corner, and I could have missed the love of a lifetime."

The Hairspray star revealed that Christian proposed to her during a European vacation this summer.

"After a year-long relationship, he asked me to marry him," the Dancing With The Stars contestant disclosed.

"While we were vacationing in Spain. It felt so right. At 43, I have a renewed sense of excitement about everything I do. Most important, he loves my kids and my kids love him. There is nothing better than seeing all of my guys together."

Ricki joked that she is thankful "words don't have calories" because she would be eating hers after telling her inner circle for years that she would never walk down the aisle again, even if she found Mr. Right.

"Interestingly, no one in my life reminded me that I vowed never to tie the knot a second time," the former talk show host said. "And it didn't dawn on me, either. I think that says everything!"
