The two female vocalists are often compared because they both love fashion. While Rihanna favours an edgy, fashion-forward and runway-inspired look, Lady Gaga sees clothing as art. She is renowned for wearing pieces which are a statement, such as the meat gown she donned for an awards ceremony this year, and while Rihanna is impressed with her dedication it has changed how she views fashion.

?She started casual and fun. Now it?s very serious and costume-like,? Rihanna told Q magazine. ?That?s her look. But I am the opposite. I do my own thing. I like to wear clothes I would wear on the street. I don?t think I could walk down the street wearing bubbles or a dress made of ham. I?m all about a real look.?

Rihanna enjoys hearing what Lady Gaga is wearing each week, but says their styles shouldn?t be compared. The Barbados-born singer is only interested in wearable pieces, and doesn?t take inspiration from anyone.

?I try not to get too concerned by what someone else is doing in the fashion sense. I got my own ideas about that,? she said. ?If it?s a music innovation, then course I wanna know all about it.
