Riteish Deshmukh's father, 67-year-old Vilasrao Deshmukh is in critical condition. The former chief minister of Maharashtra was shifted to Chennai via an air ambulance as he was suffering from liver cirrhosis and both his kidneys had stopped functioning. Doctors are trying to stabilise his condition so that they can conduct a liver transplant.

According to reports, Riteish has proposed to donate a part of his liver to help improve his father's condition. However, tests are needed to determine whether Riteish will be a match or not.

Vilasrao Deshmukh's illness had been diagnosed a year ago and there had been considerable improvement after he underwent treatment abroad. But recently, his health took a turn for the worse.
