KJO sets Christmas release for 'Brahmastra' trilogy's first part

It was on October 17, when Ayan Mukerji's fantasy adventure 'Brahmastra' was announced including the solid multi-starrer cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. This is reported to be a trilogy of which first part was almost wrapped up in its Bulgaria schedule a couple of months back.

Now, Karan Johar who is bankrolling the film under his Dharma Productions banner has revealed the release date of Brahmastra's first part from the trilogy and it will hit the screens on Christmas of 2019.

Sharing the deets KJO wrote, "#BRAHMASTRA #christmas2019" Dharma Productions official twitter handle captioned it "PART 1!!!! #BRAHMASTRA #CHRISTMAS2019 @DharmaMovies written and directed by AYAN MUKERJI."  

Earlier, it was set for an Independence Day release date as on August 15, 2019, although the weekend was busy with Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy starrer 'Made in China' as well as John Abraham's 'Batla House' arriving for a clash already.

As of now, Ayan Mukerji's film is all set to clash with Salman Khan's 'Kick 2'. The makers of 'Kick 2' took to social media to publicize the release date. "The wait is over! Devil is back! Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Kick 2' starring Salman Khan releases Christmas 2019."

'Brahmastra' also stars Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna and Dimple Kapadia in key roles. The movie is set to be a trilogy and all the parts will be made over a span of 10 years.
