Robbie Williams wants quiet life

8th March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Robbie Williams would love to quit showbiz and live like a recluse, believes a close friend.

The popular British singer has spent over 20 years in the spotlight, both as a member of pop group Take That and as a successful solo artist. The 37-year-old has previously revealed that he has mellowed over the last few years, culminating in his marriage to Ayda Field in August.

According to sources, Robbie would quit the glitz and glamour for a more simple life, if he didnt have prior engagements.

Rob prefers the idea of a quiet life. If he had his way, hed move to a desert island and live like a recluse. He also wants a baby in the near future, and thats going to be tricky enough to fit in with the upcoming Take That tour as it is, a source told British magazine Star.

Robbie is one of the biggest names in Britain, and rumours had suggested that he would replace Simon Cowell as a judge on popular television talent show The X Factor. It was believed that Simon was extremely interested in Robbie stepping into his shoes, following his move to America. However, Robbie is understood to be reluctant to place himself in the glare of a primetime audience.

With Simon leaving to judge the US show, hes convinced Robbie would be the perfect successor. Robs likeable, opinionated and funny. But money has been a stumbling block. He wants more of an incentive to put himself out there on live TV every week, the insider confirmed, before explaining that the singer found judging potential stars harder than singing himself.

Its one thing getting up and singing to millions of people, but quite another to sit there and give an opinion in front of all those viewers. The thought alone terrifies him. (C) Cover Media
